Sandon Dock Waste Water Treatment Plant.
When this major new development was commissioned, two problems were evident and Sound Analysis Ltd were engaged to investigate
a) Complaints of excessive night time noise levels made by local residents on the opposite side of the River Mersey.
Our detailed survey established that the source of the noise was not attributable to the Water Treatment Plant, and was associated with shipping operations some distance down river.
b) The high pressure air blowers on the site were creating noise levels for the workforce in excess of the Health and Safety guidelines, and Sound Analysis Ltd designed special attenuators for the blower discharge which successfully eliminated the problem.
Birkenhead Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Sound Analysis Ltd were engaged as Acoustic Consultants for this major development at the Planning and Design stage, and utilised the TripleA computer modelling programme to analyse the complex aspects of this 5 acre site with many buildings housing numerous items of noise producing equipment.
A detailed noise survey was conducted around the site before construction commenced to establish the existing environmental noise levels over a 24 hour period, and this determined the allowable operational noise levels at agreed locations adjacent to residential properties which were approved by the Local Authority and incorporated within the Planning Consent.
Sound Analysis Ltd provided a detailed specification for the noise control equipment for the project which the Client used to procure the hardware.
A post works noise survey was conducted on completion, and proved that the specified noise criteria had been achieved at the various monitoring positions.
New Distribution Warehouse – Berkshire.
Sound Analysis Ltd were appointed as Acoustic Consultants by the local Residents Association to act for them in connection with a massive distribution warehouse which was to be built on the boundary of their prestigious properties.
The warehouse would be a 24 hour, 7 day operation involving 1100 heavy goods vehicles entering and leaving the site during each 24 hour period.
Outline Planning Consent had already been granted for the development on the basis of detailed studies, but by our investigation and analysis we were able to demonstrate that the Residents would be subject to excessive noise, and were successful in having the warehouse repositioned further away from the properties and introducing a noise reducing scheme with Acoustic Barriers and earth bank screening.
Mining Project – Brazil.
Sound Analysis Ltd were engaged as Acoustic Consultants by the UK process designers, and our brief included the provision of working drawings and specifications for manufacture of the noise control equipment in South America. |
